(d) Explain what you completed.    

I had originally planned to do a documentary, following the stories of a couple people, their experiences at a hospital or clinic, their treatments, and what happened that made them satisfied or not with their care. I realized that this would give me too broad a range of information and decided to narrow it down. I looked at my second answer and decided to focus only on that. I researched all about how the environment affects the mood and satisfaction of a patient, as well as more in depth to the parts of the environment that cause effect. I researched and composed all of my findings into a powerpoint. 

Interpretive

What I did for the component was research in depthly, my second answer, and present my findings in a powerpoint. The significance of it was that it allowed me to really know my second answer and it helped me understand why it is such a valuable and true answer. I was surprised with the info that I found, especially about the link between color and the brain’s responses. It was very significant and I even plan to include it all in my final presentation. Good research takes a long time, so that in itself shows a lot of time taken to complete. It is not a fast task to find the right support and evidence for your argument, in someone else’s publication. Research took most of my 30 hours. I also interviewed nurses to get a different points of view on my answer. Lastly, putting the powerpoint took time. It was like writing an essay, choosing the right information to put in the powerpoint. I have attached also pictures of the powerpoint.

Applied

It helped me answer my essential question because it was an actual answer to my essential question that I researched; my second answer. My second answer was that a doctor can increase patient satisfaction if they treat the patient in a comfortable environment. Some examples that I found were to have the right colors, lighting, temperature, and surrounding objects in the treatment room. Also, age group plays a role in deciding the right colors, etc. These were all factors of the environment that affect patient mood and satisfaction. If the patient is in a comfortable environment. they’ll feel content with being there, and satisfied with their treatment.
